The Puster Valley – Holidays in the "green valley"!

When the Puster Valley was named the "green valley" it was not only about the colour. The Puster Valley is green in spring, but in winter it is covered by snow, and in autumn the forests feature many different colours.

Green describes the nature, the clean air and the clean environment: the green natural valley! In this way the term "green valley" describes the Puster Valley throughout the entire year! The Puster Valley mainly impresses with its nature, nature as it still should be everywhere else – a harmony of fields, forests, rivers, meadows and slopes. To the north the snowed-in glaciers; and to the south the bizarre Dolomites.

Only the Puster Valley provides the source for two large rivers flowing into the Mediterranean and into the Black Sea; and in no other main valley of South Tyrol is the climate so harsh and so alpine, hence perfect for mountaineers and skiers. Many specialities and opposites, the population, the history, agriculture and handcrafts are only a few things that make this valley unique.
