Brunico

Brunico, the capital of the Puster Valley, should be visited at least once during your stay. The shopping street, the pedestrian zone of the alpine town, once surrounded by thick town walls, is still overlooked by the imposing Brunico Castle. The tightly attached and lovingly decorated houses offer almost everything your heart longs for – from shopping sprees to coffee parties.

The talented painter and sculptor Michael Pacher moved to Brunico in 1467. The large wing altars he created are outstanding sites. Unfortunately mostly only remains of his works can be seen, like Mary with child in S. Lorenzo near Brunico.
